I'm loving that version of "Peppermint" available on this very site. Moving, and absolutely gorgeous. Also - I'm really into "To Be Alone With You" by Sufjan Stevens (and have been for months), and Francoise Hardy, and, on a different note, the Hot As Shits from Austin.
Hmmm... I've been listening to "new lease on life" and "kid quiet" a good bit. Also "st. jude". And, yeah, "peppermint", me too -- I really like that song, and that version. Not sure about favorites, but I do find that I'm not listening to whole albums anymore, but rushing to the songs I really like, which change over time.
Outside of "lovers", recently I've been listening to Talking Heads, Cat Power, Hope for Agoldensummer, Tegan and Sara, Beth Orton, John Prine, and Apocalypse Radio.
I'm definitely into Tegan and Sara right now! I just started getting into The Blow because I saw her and Mirah last weekend. That was a great show. To be honest, I haven't listened much of lovers at all, but my favorite songs include 'Kid Quiet', 'St. Jude', 'Birds in the Sky', and 'From a Highway'
my favorite lovers song? at the moment it would be "take good care" "The highway may be strewn with sin, but it's proven again and again, it's the only way i am saved" I love that line.
otherwise, rainer maria and her space holiday have found themselves at the top of my ipod, along with one song by a band named plastic operator, the songs name is home 0207. it's sort of an electroinc sounding, indie pop. definitly going to buy that album when i get some paid next.
